Abby

My name is Abby.  I am 10 months old.  I came to live with my new parents when I was about 8 weeks old.  I had been turned in to Animal Control by my owners.  I was rescued by GRRACE on my last day.  I was so scared at Animal Control that I didn't eat and I cowered in the corner.  When my Mom and Dad took me to the vet, I weighed only 7 pounds and I was malnourished so I was sick quite a bit.  My previous owners weren't very nice to me, so I was pretty scared when I first moved in.  I have a sister who showed me around the house and we ran around in the back yard.  I am big now and I love my new home.  My sister and I play together all the time and we curl up and sleep together.  My favorite thing to do is lie under the desk while Mom or Dad are on the computer and put my head on their feet.  That way they know I am there and they reach down to pet me.  I usually get Dad up in the morning by staring at him from the side of the bed.  As soon as Dad opens his eyes, I lick him on the face.

Recently Mom brought home a little person from the hospital.  She doesn't like to play, but I bring her my toys anyway.  The little person smells funny and I sniff her a lot.  Mom doesn't like it when I sneak up from behind and lick the back of her head.  Sometimes the little person cries.  I get worried about her and run and jump up on the bed and look down in the cradle to see if she's okay.  Mom and Dad think that is pretty funny.

Mom and Dad say that my fur looks funny for a golden and they didn't train me to do lots of tricks, but they love me very much and can't imagine life without me.
