Alex Lyman

This 23”, 63 lb. powerhouse was probably born around Halloween of 1999 and more than likely ended up being someone’s Christmas puppy.  Whether he was lost or dumped is not known but some students who lived in an apartment complex found him and attempted to keep him for a month before being discovered by their landlord and given an ultimatum – that is how he ended up in the Lafayette Indiana Animal Shelter.  No one ever came looking for him and he was not adopted from the shelter and this is where GRRACE came in!!

On January 30th 2000 Alex (formerly known as Rex) went into his foster home and it soon became apparent that his previous name was probably pretty accurate as he thinks he is a king.  Alex is a very confident, strong willed, high energy and vocal dog who is quick to learn and has the drive to be doing something all the time.  He was soon adopted and his adolescence was quite a trial but we all survived it and learned much from each other in the process. He can be a challenge because he is the kind of dog you have to be one step ahead of all the time but he is a lot of fun and we love him.

These days he has become quite a devoted companion to his people and enjoys the camaraderie of his 9 month old golden brother and his 6 yr and 8 yr old golden brothers along with a Siamese cat.

Alex is now approximately 18 months old and we are considering getting into agility with him very soon.  We think it will be very good for him and that he will enjoy it tremendously!
