When a call came to pick up a shelter dog to foster, we could never have known how richly this gentle, Golden sweetheart would bless our lives. Henley loved everyone, but stuck like superglue to our family. When he was not resting his head on a knee, he was less than arms-length away always ready for a pat on the head. He looked to his 4-legged sister for guidance with every new experience. Henley won the hearts of his Veterinarian and hospital staff as he endured months of heartworm treatment for the stage 3 disease. Just when we thought he was finished with treatment and ready for a full, happy life, Henley suddenly collapsed. His heart failed. It was characteristic of Henley to give his heart to everyone he met, and have nothing left for himself. He will always be in our hearts.
