Rusty

199? - 2003

On August 16th, a true gentleman went to the Rainbow Bridge.  It was with great
sadness and heartache that we gave Rusty the only gift we could give
him at that time, release from the cancer that had taken over his body.

His kind face and gentle manner won our hearts at first sight.
To us he was the most perfect dog in the world, truly a gentleman.  In the
nearly three and a half years he was with us, he was rarely more than a few
inches from one of us,  sometimes making it difficult to maneuver around his
95lb body and wagging tail,  but we didn't mind.  We figured it was his way
of helping us stay in shape.  His daily "job" was to bring in the mail or
paper,  which pleased him immensely,  as a treat was waiting at the end of
that "chore".  We will never forget his happy face at the door when we
returned from an errand or his thumping tail as it became too much of an
effort to come to the door.  We can still envision him running through his
favorite field,  and the day he found his greatest treasure,  a turtle shell which
he ate while we tried in vain to get it out of his big gentle mouth.

Thank you GRRACE for allowing us to have this wonderful senior in our
lives.  He made such a favorable impact on all that met him.

Goodbye sweet Rusty,  you'll always be in our hearts.
