Success Stories for 2006 |

Sam
has become 'one of the boys' in our house! He has such a gentle and
loving disposition and is so eager to be included... jumping on the hammock
for this picture was a perfectly natural request for him. He also loves car
rides to the park and sleeping on the rug in front of the sink, just in case
I drop something delicious. His favorite past-time is keeping our feet
warm under the dinner table or in front of the sofa. We were so excited to
find Sam and have only high praises for GRRACE. Thank you both, GRRACE, for
finding Sam and to our amazing foster family who nurtured him back to health
after his bout with heartworm. We feel so lucky to be Sam's 'forever
home'. The Carr Family |

Baer (formerly Raz) |
I want to send out a great big Thank You to the fine people at GRRACE
for taking me into the program and helping me to find my "Forever
Home". This is my 4th home and as you can see I have a great brother to
keep me company ( he was rescued too)! I now have a different name, I
was in GRRACE as Raz in December 2006 but my new family chose to give me
a new name...I think I've had many names, four at least...but I like
Baer! Keep up the good work and never let it be said that an Older Guy
is not adoptable...THAT'S JUST NOT TRUE!
Thank you,
Baer Doone and His Family, Larry, Sharon, Maxx, Potter and Harry

Buddy
|
To all the wonderful people of GRRACE, Thank you for saving my life! I was alone and sick and you rescued me. You put me in a wonderful foster home and gave me the medical care I needed. Now I have my Forever Home and my pack people do truly love me. I am very happy now and as you can see, I smile a lot! Your friend forever, Buddy |

Dodger |
Hello there. I just wanted to let you know how things are
going with Dodger. He's great! We just love him. It's like we've had him forever! Nothing bothers him a bit. All the kids running, crying and yelling etc. don't bug him at all. They are having a ball with him. Even my daughter Madeleine, who has never been around dogs, warmed up to him after about a day and a half. She loves brushing him. He enjoys taking walks and does very well on a leash. He's just a giant lap dog. --This is not easy when driving. He does well at night. He usually lays on the floor at the foot of our bed. I think he's accustomed to being on the bed. He always enjoys the couch when we're away. So some work to do there too.

Blaze |
Hi, My name is Blaze and I found my forever home on March 11, 2006. I love it here; I have 2 sisters, Cookie and Sugar. Cookie is in the picture with me, she is kind of sleeping on top of me, but that’s ok. I have a nice big fenced in yard to play in and a big fluffy dog bed to sleep in. Sometimes Mom lets me sleep with her if Dad isn’t home. I love to cuddle and get my belly rubbed. I really enjoy stealing Cookie’s favorite ball and playing keep-away with her. We play until we just can’t play anymore. I would like to thank my foster mom, Janice, and GRRACE for helping me find my forever home. |

Budroe |
We have been so happy with our new "boy", BUDROE. He goes to work with "dad" almost every day and has never met a person or dog he doesn't like! We are looking forward to getting a companion for Budroe when he settles in. Grrace was so helpful. We enjoyed meeting all of you and appreciate the care you give to all of the golden's we saw. You are truly a wonderful organization and we will be back to find a companion for Budroe. We are convinced that it is the best decision for us and for Budroe! Thank you for making our family complete again!!

Scout |
Hi, it's Scout's
family here! We just
wanted to send some pictures and give you an update on Scout. She’s
been such a joy and a wonderful addition to our family – We just love
her so much!
She has a funny way of smiling when we come home or greet her in a happy way – we just think she is so adorable. She quickly caught on to where her boundaries are with the invisible fence and enjoys full reign in the yard – Goldens are such smart dogs! She and her furry sister Bailey are inseparable… always playing together and sharing or tugging on toys – Scout has waded into our pool on her own to retrieve toys, but has not embraced swimming laps like her sister, she seems perfectly content with just hanging out by the pool with us instead. Scout keeps up with all the kids and has even learned to climb up and down the play set ladder (see photo) – thankfully she is far too wise to try to take the slide! She has improved tremendously with her manners when encountering other dogs on our walks and her inside manners are wonderful – it is obvious she came from a loving and caring home, she gets compliments from visiting friends all the time! Thank you so much for helping to bring Scout into our lives. We are very grateful to GRRACE and all the wonderful volunteers. We learned about GRRACE through other pet owners who had a wonderful adoption experience and are telling everyone we can about our experience too! Hopefully no Golden will have to wait very long for a forever loving home! Sincerely, Shelly, Eric, Brandon & Katie |

Baxter
|
Hi Beth, I wanted to share some academic success of the canine-kind. After a seven week Basic Obedience course which began inauspiciously with Baxter 'anointing' the working field, I was delighted that on test night he completed all the trials...even the 3 minute down-stay. His point total was significantly higher than any of the other dogs! His reward - a squeaker doll. Naturally, he showed immediate joy by shaking and squeaking up a storm. You will also note that in remodeling my kitchen I chose my cabinet finish to complement the Golden. Thanks again for seeing Baxter and me as partners. He has been the bright spot in an otherwise bleak time. |
