Giving Tuesday is December 2nd, and GRRACE is proud to honor two special pups this year—Benjamin Franklin and Tella. We would be so grateful for your support to help us continue caring for Goldens all over Indiana that need us.
Benjamin Franklin came to GRRACE in July at only five days old and weighing just 353 grams, born with a cleft palate and unable to nurse like his siblings. When Ben’s surrendering owner contacted us, we had two options - TRY to save Ben or euthanize him. Ben’s wonderful foster mom stepped up without hesitation, lovingly tube-feeding him every three hours, even through sleepless nights, determined to give him a chance at life. His prognosis was uncertain, but Benjamin’s spirit proved stronger than anyone imagined. Against all odds, this tiny fighter grew, thrived, and recently underwent successful cleft palate surgery. Now, almost five months old and 25 pounds, Benjamin is ready to experience the world the way every dog deserves to: chasing toys, enjoying treats, and knowing only love. His journey reminds us that compassion, dedication, and hope can truly change a life.
11-year-old Tella came to GRRACE in February after spending her entire life as a breeder dog who had never seen a vet. We discovered a host of serious medical challenges: heartworm disease that had progressed too far for standard treatment, seizures & tremors, enlarged heart, UTIs, skin problems, kidney stones and a possible brain tumor. Despite all of this, Tella’s gentle and loving nature shone through from the very beginning. With compassionate care and unwavering dedication from her foster family, she began to beat the odds and blossom into the joyful girl she was always meant to be. Today, Tella is living her best life as a GRRACE “forever foster,” meaning that GRRACE will continue to cover all her medical costs for the rest of her life. Despite her medical challenges, Tella enjoys every day, surrounded by comfort and love.
These dogs and the 60+ others GRRACE has saved this year require costly care that we can only do with your support. Overall, GRRACE’s medical and behavioral expenses have exceeded $97,000 thus far this year. Your donations fund the medical care many of these dogs would not have received without GRRACE.
We would be so grateful for your Giving Tuesday donation to help us support as many Goldens as we can. To donate, visit https://www.grrace.org/donate. Thank you from all of us at GRRACE.
